Radio St. Lucia Company Limited
Radio St. Lucia, formerly operating under the aegis of the St. Lucia Broadcasting Corporation Radio St. Lucia was converted from a statutory corporation to a limited liability company on November 08, 1999. Radio St. Lucia Company Ltd. is wholly owned by the Government of Saint Lucia.
Popularly known as "The Nation's Station" RSL is mandated to provide public service broadcasting, although earning its keep from advertising. In many ways a pioneer in local broadcasting, RSL has provided the foundation for much of what obtains in local broadcast circles. Many of the programmes and current crop of broadcasters across the media landscape had their beginnings at Radio St. Lucia.
RSL's programming features a wide range of offerings in culture, health, agriculture, news and current affairs, sports, music and public information. We continue to lead all stations in news, sports, religious, cultural and Kwéyòl language programming and local music output. And through our OECS Newslink programme we keep St. Lucia up to date on what happens in our sister territories.
Our News Nationwide at 1 p.m. continues to be a staple for a many and our extensive coverage Calypso, Carnival, Emancipation Day, the La Rose, La Maguerite Festivals and of national events, is unrivalled. So too, our Christmas programming which provides a new talking point each year.

Governance: How RSL is Run
Radio St. Lucia Company Ltd. is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Saint Lucia and incorporated under the Companies Act, 1996. The Board of Directors (minimum three and maximum ten) is appointed by the Minister for Information and Broadcasting acting on behalf of the Government of Saint Lucia. Directors are usually appointed for two years and their appointments may be renewed. There is no limit to the number of terms a Director may serve.
The Board of Directors provides the leadership, strategic direction and policy framework to the company. The Board does not manage the day-to-day operations of the company, but ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, ethical and moral principles. It regularly assesses its performance and effectiveness as a whole and must evaluate the performance of the Managing Director and ensure that there is a successorship plan. The Board is accountable to the Government of Saint Lucia, through the Minister for Information and Broadcasting.

There are four Standing Committees of the Board of Directors - Finance, Human Resources, Technical, and Sales, Marketing & Programming - which support the Management Team with research, analysis and planning.
Management Team
The Management Team manages the day-to-day business of Radio St. Lucia Company Ltd. It is made up of the heads of the six Departments which produce or commission all of RSL's output, and it is led by the Managing Director. The Management Team answers to the Board of Directors through the Managing Director. The Department Heads answer to the Managing Director.

Accountability
The Shareholders meet with the Board of Directors and Management annually. Annual Reports of the Company's operations and Audited Financial Statements are submitted to the shareholders. These reports are tabled in Parliament by the Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
The Board of Directors meets monthly or as necessary for the supervision of the company's business. The Managing Director prepares monthly reports on the company's operations including financial statements which are submitted to the meetings of the Board of Directors. Quarterly statements are also submitted to the Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
The Management Team meets weekly or as required for the management of the company's business. The Managing Director receives weekly and monthly reports from the Heads of Department.
