Fedee Takes A Stand

Jeff Fedee has confirmed that he's no longer the Government's Public Relations Officer, bringing to an end speculation about his position which arose after a recent newspaper article he penned.

Writing in the Star Newspaper two weekends ago, Fedee slammed the UWP government for failing to implement campaign and budgetary promises.

He claimed there was widespread public disillusionment with the administration, and called for Ausbert d'Auvergne's return to the Cabinet of Ministers to propel the government's development program.

Fedee denied that his remarks signaled a falling out with the UWP, but since then there have been widespread suggestions that his outburst may have been a case of sour grapes about his contract not being renewed.

Speaking with us today, Jeff Fedee said had he been keen to return to the government PR job, he would never have written the article.

He said his contract expired at the end of August and he and Prime Minister Stephenson King had been due to negotiateFormer Economics Minister Ausbert D'Auvergne its possible renewal, but never got around to doing so.

Fedee said in any case he's not interested on continuing to work for the government until his demand for d'Auvergne's reinstatement is met.
