2009 BLACKHEART FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS MABOUYA AVALLEY GO DOWN IN WEEKEND FOOTBALL ACTION
Action in the ST.Lucia Football Association's Inter district under 19 and senior male inter district football tournaments continued at the weekend with several matches being played around the island.On Saturday afternoon in the under 19 tournament:At the Gros Islet playing field: Gros Islet won over Babonneau 2-1.At the Canaries playing field Canaries and Roseau played to a goaless draw.
Yesterday afternoon also in under 19 action:At the Bexon Playing field: Dennery won five nil over South Castries.At the Laborie playing field host team Laborie won 3-2 over Choiseul.In the senior male inter district tournament Saturday afternoon:At Soufriere, Soufriere had a 4-2 win over Roseau,at the Morne Cayenne Playing Field, Vieux Fort North and Desruisseaux played to a one all draw.At the La Ressource playing field Mon Repos won over 2009 Blackheart Football Champions Mabouya Valley Three goals to one. Mabouya played without several of their regular first team players as the entire contingent from the Aux Lyon United Sports Club made themselves unavailable for the encounter.
Unconfirmed reports reaching our sports desk indicates that the Aux Lyon players were disappointed with alledged remarks made about them by former coaches of the Mabouya team who led the team to the Blackheart title, Valencious Joseph and Troy Edwin who are not coahing the team at this time. The team is being coached by former national defender Albert "norbin Joseph. Also the Aux Lyon players are peeved about the alledged way the process of disciplinary action has been taken against some of their players.
In matches yesterday: At the Anse La Raye playing field in a very physical West Coast derby Canaries defending national inter district champions and Anse La Raye played to a three all draw. There were four red cards in the encounter handed out by referee Vivian Robinson. Three players from Anse La Raye were shown red cards while one from Canaries was shown a red card. Laborie and Vieux Fort South played to a one all draw in Laborie. Vieux Fort South equalising in the last minute of the encounter.
The other match scheduled yesterday afternoon at the Bexon Playing field between La Clery and South Castries was not played.
