BARBADOS DEFEATS ST.LUCIA THREE ONE IN AMATEUR BOXING CARD HELD HERE AT THE WEEKEND
Barbados defeated ST.Lucia three bouts to one in an amateur boxing card
held here Saturday evening at the Dame Perlette Louisy Primary School.
The Bajans won the opening bout a bantamweight contest as ST.Lucia's
Travis Maynard was disqualified for kicking and hitting his opponent Chad
Boucher when on the camvas.
Barbadian Lightweight Cobia Breedy won over ST.Lucia's Emile Octave
when the referee stopped the contest in the 1st round after Octave suffered a
right shoulder injury after he threw a vicious right hook at Breedy.
ST.Lucia's only victory on the night came when Lightwelterweight Thomas
Melville won over Lennard Harewood after Harewood retired.
The bajans completed the evening when the best boxer of the evening
Ronald Als won a welterweight contest against Miguel Auguste of ST.Lucia
after the referee stopped the contest in the 3rd round.
