CHOISEUL WINS UNDER 19 CRICKET TOURNAMENT

 


The St.Lucia National Cricket Association concluded its first domestic competition for the year when the Under 19 finals was played at the Beauchamp Cricket Ground on Thursday May1st.
The match saw 2006 champions and 2007 losing finalist Choiseul coming up against Gros-Islet and defeating them by 127 runs.
 
Winning the toss and deciding to bat Choiseul were bowled out for 228 runs in the 41st over.
For choiseul,Windward Islands Under 15 Vice captain, Dwight Thomas batted responsible and positively for a well played 57.He was ably supported by his younger brother Deylan Thomas who scored 23 as well as Audy Alexander and Earlanie Theodore who both scored 22.
 
For Gros-Islet, Rico Daniel had 4 for 17 while Wayne Breedy had 2 for 56 and Gideon Charles 2 for 38.
 
In their turn at the crease, Gros-Islet could only muster 101 runs.Rico Daniel and Jermison Aurilien were the only two batters to reach double figures, scoring 20 and 19 respectively.
 
For Choiseul, Yoham Williams had 3 for 11 while Windward under 15 player Bronte Bess had 2 for 23.
