DANIELLE BEAUBRUN SETS NATIONAL RECORDS IN THE UNITED STATES

At the Southern Florida Sectional Swimming Championships in Orlando Florida on the weekend 14th to16th March 2008 and two weeks before the CARIFTA championships in Aruba, St Lucias Danielle Beaubrun shattered the National LC 50 Breaststroke record by 0.49 seconds  in dropping the time from 34.23 to 33.74 seconds.

Danielle then proceeded to break the 50M Free record held by her by swimming a 28.28 in the 50M Free breaking the old mark of 28.54 seconds

This would bolster her confidence as she prepares for the CARIFTA Games in Aruba where she is a hot favorite to medal in her pet events the 50M, 100M, and 200M Breaststroke. Her new record of 33.74 is just 0.18 seconds off the CARIFTA record set by Alia Atkinson of Jamaica in 2006

At the Southern Florida Sectionals, Danielle swam times of 18.80, 1:17.81 and 1:16.32 in the 100M Breaststroke finals, Preliminaries and 400M Medley Relay. She was overall 15th of 104 swimmers in the individual event.

In the 200M Breaststroke, she swam times of 2:51.59 and 2:52.05 to place in the C Final. Her training program from the Bolles School has her now being tapered in preparation for the CARIFTA in her quest to make an Olympic Qualifying time
