EXCITING SWIMMING ACTION AT THE WEEKEND IN RHAC MEET
The Rodney Heights Aquatic Center 9th Invitational Club Meet came to a resounding successful conclusion over the weekend 13th to 16th March 2008 with over 3 National Records and 12 Age Group records set.
The meet was attended by over 13 clubs from 5 Caribbean islands and boasted over 170 swimmers. It was clearly one of the most successful meets in St Lucia and was characterized by excellent competition, efficient organization and a large crowd attendance and support for the swimmers and the sport
Dr Diane Worrell (Meet Director) was extremely satisfied with the meet and also expressed gratitude to the sponsors including The Tire Ranch - Cooper Tires, Piton Malta, ECFH - Bank of SLU, Juicy Cool - Marcellin and Company, Lucozade, Video Ventures - Cox and Company and Paradise Water
The number one club was the Grenfin Club of Grenada that amassed 1,524 points followed by Rodney Heights Aquatics Club with 1,212 points and then the other clubs:

Local club Sea Jays Swim Club grabbed the fifth place with 480 points and Trident 168 points. Southern Flying Fish continued there improvement in local meets with 75 points
Two National records were set by Siona Huxley of RHAC in the 50M Back and 100m Back with times of 31.71 and 1:10.47 respectively. She also set an Age Group record in the 200M Back
The other National Record was set by Jamie Peterkin in the 100M IM
Jean Luc Augier filled some gaps in the Record books by establishing records in the 200M Back, 200M Breast, 400M IM and the 1500M Free
Thalia Bergasse blasted away two records in the girls 9-10 removing 14 seconds in the 200M Breast (3:43.05) and 6 seconds in the 100M Fly (1:36.90)
RHAC swimmers Sara Georgeos demolished the 200M IM record in the 15-17 (2:6.60) and Jon L Innocent Dolor broke the record in the 200m Breast (2:56.26)
With the strong overseas competition the local swimmers did well to win their age groups including Thalia Bergasse (9-10), Runako Daniel (11-12), Eamon Ahworth (134-14) Julien Brice (15-17) and Jean Luc Augier (18 and over)
With the CARIFTA Games two weeks away the St Lucia team has had good opportunity to prepare and look forward to the competition in Aruba
