PRIMARY SCHOOLS SWIM MEET ON LATER WEEKEND
The 7th Annual Primary School Swim Meet swims off this Thursday 14th May 2009 at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Center with participation expected from about 12 of the Primary Schools from around the island
The ongoing program is conducted by the St Lucia Amateur Swimming Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sport and Ministry of Education and is designed to bring the competitive aspect of swimming into the schools and is hoped to be part of a larger competitive school program
The Primary Schools have benefited from the efforts of the National Federation and the Government ministries of Sport and Education for the hosting of the meet
The meet starts at 10 AM and will have generally short races and geared towards the different levels of swimmers including those at competitive club level and below.
Each School will enter no more than 4 swimmers per age group and in individual events and 2 swimmers per age group in kick board races. Swimmers in kickboard races are not eligible for other races and are for non club swimmers.
ALL SWIMMERS MUST HAVE A BASIC COMPETENCY IN SWIMMING. ANY
CHILD NOT DEMONSTRATING BASIC SWIMMING ABILITY WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.
Last years Primary School Meet was won by Bonne Terre Primary who will be looking to repeat the victory
