The crowd in the southern state of Alabama yesterday was ardent supporters of former president Donald Trump. In front of them, Trump dismissed the latest indictment of federal charges against him for the riot on January 6 at the Capitol.
He also called the indictment charges ridiculous, while there are specific 4 charges that have been levied against him, including his strategies to capsize the outcome of the 2020 election. The goal was to change the election results, as Smith stated.
When Trump came in front of his supporters on Friday, he highlighted current President Joe Biden for the federal indictment charges by stating, “It’s an act of desperation by a failed disgraced crooked Joe Biden…” When addressing his followers, Trump stated that Biden is trying to maintain his grip on power.
The former president received support and a warm welcome in the state capital of Alabama, Montgomery. He was welcomed at the reception of the Republic summer dinner, opposite to his experience in Washington, which was comparatively quite hostile.
The lieutenant governor, agriculture commissioner, and senior senator of Alabama are also backing Trump, while the governor and the junior senator are supporting the Republican primary; hence, for them, any candidate will do.
It has been claimed by special counsel Jack Smith who has been investigating Trump and his involvement in committing fraud in the 2020 election. The investigation confirmed that Trump conspired against the United States to commit fraud in the 2020 elections.
Trump will go on court trial in March next year with serious allegations about his misrepresentation of payment to a porn star. There are also issues, including 78 felonies where criminal probes have been done thrice.
The indictment charges brought against the federal government against Donald Trump will be overlooked by two women, U.S. Magistrate Judge Moxila A. Upadhyaya and U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan.
Judge Chutkan was appointed to the federal bench by Barack Obama and has previously presided over other cases related to January 6.
