Home Minister Anil Deshmukh promises to provide food and accommodation to migrants who gathered at the Bandra station today in the morning. The Home Minister also mentions that the workers who gathered in the station might have thought that the PM Narendra Modi has withdrawn the lockdown. It was a matter of concern because at this alarming time in Bombay such gathering could result in fatal results.
After reaching the Bandra station, the workers were told by the police that the borders will not be opened. But now the situation is under control according to the Maharashtra government and the Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
These migrants have been told that the state government will be arranged for their accommodation and food. After this assurance was given by the government, the workers dispersed from the station. More than 3000 workers gathered in the Bandra station, on Tuesday morning.
“Lakhs of workers from other states work in Mumbai. They expected that the PM would open the state borders today. They felt they could go to their home states,” the Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said.
“But the PM and CM (Uddhav Thackeray) took a very good decision to extend the lockdown. The state borders will remain sealed. Permission will not be given to go to other states from Maharashtra,” Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said.

Although some other sources say that the workers had gathered in Bandra police station to protest against the extension of the lockdown which has been extended by the PM this morning till 3rd May 2020.
