Kevin McCarthy Talks About Impeachment Inquiry For President Biden

Kevin McCarthy The US House Speaker said that the Republican lawmakers might consider an inquiry for impeachment of President Biden. This impeachment inquiry is set to enquire about Biden’s unproven claims about financial misconduct.

This response from the House Speaker comes at GOP pressure to show support for Trump’s presidential election of 2024. On Tuesday, McCarthy said that the questions Republicans are raising about Biden’s family finances need an investigation. He acknowledged that the House’s probe did not find any wrongdoings.

He added that they are in talks about setting an impeachment inquiry that “allows Congress to get the information to be able to know the truth.” If the House sets an impeachment inquiry, it would be the first step for bringing impeachment articles.

Such probes can be swift or lengthy or stretch as long into campaign season. McCarthy says,“We will follow this to the end,” about the enquiry. This is the strongest comment coming from the Speaker after the Republican leader ignored earlier efforts to launch an inquiry by House conservatives.

After Trump questioned last week in Town Hall of Fox News about why President Biden has not yet faced impeachment. The Speaker faces demands by Trump allies in the House to raise their priorities. McCarthy hasn’t endorsed Trump or any other candidates from Republican.

At present, Trump is the GOP’s frontrunner for the Presidential candidate. McCarthy denied a report which says he is planning to cancel Trump’s two impeachment through House votes to show support. He did not provide a timeline for Biden’s impeachment inquiry launch.

McCarthy refused to comment about whether he would make any Presidential endorsement. When asked if he feels pressure from Trump allies, he scoffed, “Do I look like I’m under pressure?”

Ian Sams, a spokesman from White House said about the GOP’s“eagerness to go after POTUS regardless of the truth is seemingly bottomless.” On Twitter Sams said, “Instead of focusing on the real issues Americans want us to address like continuing to lower inflation or create jobs, this is what the House GOP wants to prioritize.”
