The Delhi Government this morning announced that all the private schools in the National Capital territory. The schools have been asked to charge only tuition fees during the COVID-19 lockdown period. The education minister and the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia have announced already that the private schools in the capital city can charge the monthly tuition fees and not any other fees.
Schools have been advised not to take fees quarterly, in fact, they should take it monthly. The Deputy Chief Minister of the Delhi Government has also mentioned that no private school will be allowed to raise the charges of the school fee or increase the monthly fees during the lockdown of the students to pay off the school staff and the teachers.
“It has come to my notice that many schools are taking fees arbitrarily and charging transportation fees even when schools are closed. Private schools should not stoop to this level. Be it private or government schools, they cannot hike fees,” says Manish Sisodia Deputy CM of the Delhi Government.
If any parent fails to pay the fees, then no student will be barred from attending the online classes.
“Education and economy were worst affected by the COVID-19 crisis. We are taking online classes and taking various steps to ensure education to the students of government school,” – mentions Sisodia.
He also said that if any private school found violating the orders then the Delhi Government would take stern steps against it under Epidemic Act and Education Act against violators.
