Twitter Limits Daily Tweet Read; Musk’s Rate Limit Trigger Users Online

Twitter Limits Daily Tweet Read

To prevent “extreme levels” of data scraping and system manipulation, Twitter is limiting the number of tweets that different accounts can read each day, according to Executive Chair Elon Musk in a post on the social networking site on Saturday.

According to Musk, unverified accounts would be limited to viewing 300 posts per day with new unverified accounts being limited to 600 posts per day. Verified accounts were initially restricted to reading 6,000 posts per day.

According to marketing industry experts, Elon Musk’s decision to temporarily limit the number of messages that Twitter users may view on the social media platform could jeopardize the company’s efforts to draw in advertisers under its new CEO Linda Yaccarino.

Around 11:17 AM ET, when the outage was at its worst across the social media platform, nearly 7,500 people complained that they were having trouble accessing the app. This means that if someone views more tweets than their daily limit, they should wait until the following day to get their fix.

Needless to say, the users of the platform are in a meme frenzy after this rate limit. They have taken to Twitter to express their feelings and opinions through a series of memes:

Prior to Musk’s ownership, the social media network took a number of actions to woo back advertisers that left Twitter and increase subscription revenue by incorporating verification checkmarks into the Twitter Blue program.
