World's First Frozen Area Is Officially Open In Hong Kong Disneyland

A full-fledged area based on the hit animation “Frozen” has now opened its gates to the public on Monday at Hong Kong Disneyland. The franchise is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month.

Hundreds of guests lined up for hours outside the area before the recreation park opened its doors. Dedicated fans dressed up in movie costumes to see the much anticipated “World of Frozen.”

Two visitors who had traveled from Japan to visit the new space said it was their favorite movie. Mai, a 34 year old said, “I’m very happy to be able to see the kingdom of Arendelle.”

The park is designed to immerse guests in a captivating winter wonderland. IT features Norwegian scenic beauty inspired by the film. Arendelle Castle and snowy landscapes too grace the arena that are just as iconic.

The area has two attractions, a musical boat ride that takes guests through Elsa’a ice palace and a Frozen-theme rollercoaster.

Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan spoke at the opening ceremony. He said the launch of the new area is a “defining moment to elevate Hong Kong Disneyland to a whole new level, and to attract more tourists to embark on journeys to Hong Kong.”

The new park is the first of the three Frozen-theme attractions that have been planned for Disney parks. Tokyo DisneySea is set to open in June 2024 and the third one is currently under construction at Disneyland Paris.
